March 18, 2015

Today, our class received a response from Highlights magazine for the receipt of our poems.  It is thanking the students for their submissions and states that many entries come in to their company each month.  It also states that if a child's poem is selected, they will contact that child's family and send them two copies of the issue in which their poem appears.

I have asked the students to contact me if their poem gets selected.  It could be in the summer or even later in the fall.  They can always reach me at pabbee@eastnoble.net.

We were very excited to get a reply from Highlights today!

The eLearning Fun Continues

March 3, 2015 - Today finds students safe at home and completing eLearning assignments.  I thought it might be fun to showcase some of their projects.

Another eLearning assignment focused on third graders' need to continue to practice their writing skills.  They watched a video about writing paragraphs.  Then they used Notes to write a paragraph about someone or something that was special to them.  They were to include a topic sentence, 3 supporting details, and a concluding statement.

Emma did a nice job explaining why her brother is special to her.

My brother,Griffin is funny. Me and him laugh a lot. He is a good brother. He always lets me play his xbox. He likes playing on devices. His favorite color is red. He likes wearing sweatshirts a lot. One time he popped right out in front of me and scared me. He is a good brother.

More eLearning Fun!

March 3, 2015 - Today finds students safe at home and completing eLearning assignments.  I thought it might be fun to showcase some of their projects.

Students used the Popplet app to take photos and record with full sentences their observations.
I can hear them now..."What experiment do we get to do next?"

Zack did a great job on this assignment.  While it looks very small, you may be able to enlarge it to full screen and see it better.  Either way, be sure to scroll to the bottom to view a rock of a different classification. :-)

Awards 2nd trimester

Wednesday, February 25, 2015
Today, report cards go home to reflect all our hard work for the second trimester of third grade.  Each trimester, a small awards program is held in my classroom for those achieving specific goals.  Read below each picture to see what each group of students accomplished.

These 8 students are to be congratulated for earning the homework award.  Students need to have a 90% or higher completion rate for their homework.  Out of 57 days, they could have 5 days with problems and still earn this award.  Super Job!

These 4 students made the all B Honor Roll!  Way to go!!!

These students made the A and B Honor Roll!  Can we say, "Hard Workers?"

These students made the all A Honor Roll!  Whoopie!  What a lot of careful work needs to be done to reach this goal!

Congratulations to all!!!
